FLEXOfibers™ was awarded on March 21, 2023, as the most innovative startup in Castilla-La Mancha at the 16th edition of the EmprendeXXI Awards. This recognition is promoted by CaixaBank (through DayOne, a division for technology companies and their investors) together with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, through Enisa, and with the support of the Castilla-La Mancha Community Board .
The prize consists of 6,000 Euros and an international training program for startups, MoonShot Thinking Entrepreneurs, by experts from Esade and Silicon Valley.
The 16th edition of the EmprendeXXI Awards received a total of 1,135 applications from Spain and Portugal, which represents almost 50% more than the previous year. Of these more than 1,100 proposals, the organization will reward 19 at the territorial level: 17 in Spain (one per autonomous community) and two in Portugal (north-central zone and Lisbon-south and Islands).
Flexofibers, directed by Manuel Grases, Alejandro Grases and Ricardo Ayala, values the waste from tire recycling plants in order to obtain and give a second life to high-quality steel fibers to incorporate them into the construction industry.
The EmprendeXXI Awards promote entrepreneurial activity and value the work of newly created companies with the greatest impact in their territory and that respond to the main challenges of society.
